Hi, I'm Jesse Tatum
I'm here to help you with life's challenges and to assist you in finding solutions that will improve your well-being. I'm interested in the multitude of factors impacting our lives, including individual biology, personal psychology, social environment, and philosophical outlook. I work with adults and adolescents dealing with life transitions, grief/loss, anxiety, cancer, depression, substance use, and various artistic concerns, including music performance anxiety (stage fright). I hold Master's degrees in Music and in Social Work, and I am a licensed Social Worker in the State of New Mexico. I have a background in the arts as a performer, teacher, lecturer, and author, and use my experience to help bring new levels of understanding and workability to your life.
I bring authenticity, enthusiasm and a high-energy, positive approach to our work together. I work primarily using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Existentialism.
Additionally, I volunteer with the American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health team and serve on the Advisory Board for Best Chance, a peer-led organization serving recently incarcerated men.
Sessions are available in-person at my private office or for your convenience, online via video chat.
I choose not to work with insurance companies, ensuring you can trust in full confidentiality and a non-pathologizing approach to our work together.
